What We Do
We believe that everyone has a right to speak their heritage language and to access all of the knowledge that comes with that language.
Founder, Pa Vue, created Hmong Language Movement, LLC to be the home of her Hmong language reclamation efforts.
In 2021, Pa started teaching Hmong on Instagram. She developed the platform into a page with more than 3,500 followers and counting. While creating content for Instagram, Pa learned that many people in the Hmong community did not read and write using Romanized Popular Alphabet (RPA), the most widely-used Hmong writing system in the world.
She created the Read & Write Hmong in 30 Days or Less online course to fill this gap. She believes that being able to read and write using RPA will help Hmong people (re)learn and maintain Hmong language. This self-paced course launched in October 2023. Seats sold out in less than three days.
Pa is working to develop more affordable and accessible learning experiences and materials. Be on the lookout for the following, which coming in 2024.
